OPW Concept Art

It seems like having a second job means missing Monday updates. Sorry to be a slacker. In the meantime, here is some concept art to check out from the early workings of the comic. I have actually started drawing this story two times previous to this one on the website. I am saving that art for the actual book release but the way things are going, you may get to see it all before then.

The first picture is a concept of the critters that possess everyone. They can be seen on page 6. The second picture is just some fun I had while practicing Skull Baby. I really like the pose where he’s got grape stains all around his mouth. I drew that one while I was at a wine bar.

I’ll be back with a comic on Wednesday.

See you then.

Yay! No More Remakes. Lords of Salem: The Movie

robzombie

Rob Zombie is gearing up to make an original picture called The Lords of Salem. Set in contemporary Salem, a 300 year old coven of witches return to plague their home with a demonic visit. He is writing and directing this one. The thing that makes me really interested though is Zombie was given total control over this project. He will not have to limit his will to please a studio or make anyone else happy.

Rob Zombie is strongest when he sticks to his material. I never saw the Halloween movies simply because they never looked interesting to me. Everyone I know who has seen them didn’t like them either so I never bothered. I love Devil’s Rejects and House of 1000 Corpses though. It is a relief to know he is getting back to what he loves. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for an awesome witch movie. Hopefully it will be worth the wait.

New Cradle of Filth

In the video above, Cradle of Filth talks about their new effort Darkly, Darkly, Venus Aversa due out in the US on November 10th. Also Dani Filth mentions something about an orchestral CoF album next year. Awesome!

Behind the scenes of The Walking Dead

The anticipation for The Walking Dead to hit AMC on Halloween is only getting more and more intense. This behind the scenes feature confirms the amazing level of dramatic interpretation I think most of us are hoping for with this show. From start to finish, it is just captivating for the zombie fanatic in all of us.

Cats Moshing

This video is not new at all. However, I have just seen it for the first time and I can not stop laughing and enjoying it immensely. It originates from this video and contains 136 cats. Thanks Shawna!

Leo Strut

If you’ve been around the internet at all lately, you may have seen Leonardo DiCaprio strutting his way into just about everything. It’s hilarious to think about his confidence as he disregards danger and any other imposing conditions of his surroundings. I decided to make the images above just for fun. Click here to visit the Leo strut tumblr and see the glory of a positive walk invade it all. It’s like enjoying his own discovery of inception.

Tomorrow night, myself and Angryzenmaster will be heading down to the Peelander-Z show at Ottobar to paint a mural and rock out. Sure it’s a Tuesday night but we won’t let that stop us. We hope to see you there!
